The Houston Police Department is currently investigating an accident that happened early last Friday morning. Around 2 a.m., police received a call that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian on the southbound lane of the Katy Freeway. According to the accident report, the woman was attempting to walk across main lanes of traffic when she was struck by a man driving a Honda Accord. The driver of the Accord stopped and waited for police to arrive. He was then released because police determined that alcohol did not contribute to the collision.
While little is known currently about why the woman was walking on the freeway, it could have been due to a number of factors. Her car may have broken down and she may have exited her vehicle to seek assistance. Whatever the case may be, it is not likely that her remaining family members will be able to file a wrongful death claim on her behalf. The driver of the vehicle seemed to have displayed no negligence to cause the
car accident.
